Matthew 9:37-38 Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few;  Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.

The Good Test

Are you good enough to get to Heaven?

Romans 3:10-As it is written, there is none righteous, no, not one.

Romans 3:23-For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.

First you must realize you are a sinner.  The Bible makes it clear that all people are sinners and must pay the penalty of sin.

What is the penalty for sin?

Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death

Hebrews 9:27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment

Because you are a sinner, you are condemned to death.  This includes eternal separation from God in Hell.

But God loves you so much He gave His only begotten Son, Jesus, to bear your sin and die in your place.

2 Corinthians 5:21-For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

John 3:16-For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

How can I be good enough?

Many people try to work their way to heaven by religions, self-righteousness, philosophy, or good deeds.  The Bible tells us we cannot do anything to work our way to heaven.

Ephesians 2:8-9-For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast.

Titus 3:5-Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us

The penalty for sin had to be paid.  Jesus had to shed His blood and die.

Hebrews 9:22 . . .without shedding of blood is no remission.

Jesus paid the price for you!

Romans 5:8-But God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

Because we cannot be good enough to get to heaven Jesus became our substitute and died in our place.

Romans 3:24-25 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;

Eternal life in heaven is a free gift.  It is not something you can earn.  The only way for a gift to benefit you is by receiving it.

How can I receive this free gift?

Simply believe on Him as the one who bore your sin, died in your place, was buried, and whom God resurrected.

John 1:12-But as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name.

Romans 10:13-For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

It's as simple as believing and asking.

Romans 10:10-For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

You are not good enough to get to heaven.  The only way is through Jesus Christ.

John 14:6-Jesus saith . . . "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."

If you are ready to turn from your sins and ask Jesus to cover you with His righteousness then simply pray a prayer like this in your own words:

Lord, I know that I am a sinner.  Thank you for sending your Son as my salvation.  I know Jesus was my substitute and died in my place.  I know His blood was shed, He was buried, and He rose again that  I might be found righteous in your sight.  Please forgive me of my sins.  Please come into my heart and save me.  I thank you for this free gift of salvation in Jesus name.  Amen

What now?

You will now have new interests and desires in the things of God that will become the most important things in your life.

2 Corinthians 5:17-. . .if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

After you are saved, there are three things to practice daily for spiritual growth: Pray, Read your Bible, and Tell others about Jesus.

You should obey the Lord in scriptural baptism, as a public testimony of your salvation, and then unite with a Bible-believing church.

2 Timothy 1:8-Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord. . .

We would love to hear from you if you prayed for salvation.  Please contact us so that we can rejoice with you!
